What is ServeALink?

Is ServeALink really free?
Yes. Every feature is free, with no paid plans, no trial and no credit card. ServeALink is a community tool from Serve Aurora, a Colorado nonprofit.
How is ServeALink different from Linktree?
You get a link in bio page like Linktree, plus a short link maker, a QR code designer and a website builder in the same place. Tools that are often on paid plans elsewhere, like custom short link endings, password-protected links, QR colors and logos, scheduled links and click stats, are free here.
Do I need an account?
Not for short links and QR codes. Anyone can make them from the home page. A free account gives you your own page, a dashboard and links that last up to 1 year.
How do I create my page?
Tap Create your free page, pick a username, then enter your email and a password. Your page is ready right away at servea.link/yourname.

Short links
How do short links work?
Paste any long link, like example.com/your-page, and get a short servea.link link and a QR code. When the time you picked runs out, the link turns off automatically.
Do I have to type https://?
No. Type example.com or any web address. ServeALink checks it in about a second and tells you if it is valid before you create the link.
How long do short links last?
Without an account, pick 1 day, 1 week or 1 month. With a free account, pick 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year or Permanent. Members can also make permanent QR codes that go straight to their link.
Can I choose my own short link ending?
Yes, even without an account. Type your ending, like my-sale, using 3 to 30 letters, numbers, dashes or underscores. If it is taken, try another.
Can I password protect a link?
Yes. Open Password protect when you create the link. People will need to enter that password before the link opens.
Can I change where a link goes after I make it?
Yes. Tap Change where it goes on your link. Your short link and printed QR codes keep working and send people to the new address.
How do I manage a link I made without an account?
Links you make without an account are saved on that device under My links on this device. From there you can change where they go, add or remove a password, get the QR code or turn them off. To manage links from any device, sign in free.
Can I turn a link off early?
Yes. Tap Turn off and the link stops working right away.
Is there a limit on how many links I can make?
To stop spam, each network can make up to 30 links an hour without an account. Signed-in users can make more.
QR codes
How do I make a QR code?
Every short link comes with a QR code. You can also use the QR code tool on the Free tools page.
Can I customize my QR code?
Yes. Pick the code color and background, add the ServeALink logo or upload your own logo, and add frame text like Scan me.
What file types can I download?
PNG for phones, social posts and printing, and SVG for designers and large prints that stay sharp at any size.
Can I see how many people scanned my QR code?
Yes. QR codes from your short links count scans separately from regular clicks, so you can see both.
If I change where a link goes, do I need a new QR code?
No. The QR code points to your short link, so it follows the new address without reprinting.
Stats
Can I see how many people visit my page?
Yes. Stats shows your page views and which links people tap most over the last 30 days.
What stats do short links show?
Each short link shows total clicks, QR scans and how much time it has left.
Privacy and safety
Do you sell my data?
No. ServeALink uses no tracking cookies and does not sell your data. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Are password-protected links secure?
Passwords are stored scrambled, not as plain text, and the destination is not shown until the right password is entered. Do not use them for highly sensitive information.
What happens when a link expires?
Visitors see a page saying the link has expired, with an option to make their own short link.
What links are not allowed?
No spam, scams, malware or illegal content. See the Terms for details. Links that break the rules can be turned off.
Account and app
Can I install ServeALink on my phone?
Yes. Open servea.link in your browser and add it to your home screen. On iPhone, tap Share then Add to Home Screen. It opens like an app with its own menu bar.
I forgot my password. What do I do?

How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings in your dashboard and choose Delete my account. Your page and links are removed.
